Activating Airtel GPRS, Karnataka

I have seen many using GPRS enabled handset but don’t know how to activate GPRS. Some people are afraid of charges & some are lazy to talk with customer care.Here is the procedure to activate Free GPRS in Airtel Karnataka.
1) For Pre-Paid users send SMS as “PLIVE ACTV” to 222, For Post-Paid users send SMS as
“LIVE ACTV” to 222.
2) Right after sending SMS you will get a confirmation message from Airtel saying “Requested service will be activated within 24 hours”.
3) After activation you will get a confirmation SMS & also WAP settings.
4) Save the settings recieved & It will ask “Activate saved setting?”, Give Yes.
5) Thats all now you can browse free Airtel Live wap portal

Yahoo: http://in.wap.yahoo.com – Here you can login using your Yahoo Id & check mails, Use messenger also. Mails will be diplayed in Text format, No pictures will be shown.

Activating MMS on Airtel:
Pre-Paid users send SMS as PMMS ACTV to 222, Post-Paid users send SMS as MMS ACTV to 222. No activation charges for both GPRS & MMS. You will be charged only when you download a content or send an MMS.

Hi Friends,
I am using AIRTEL Connection with Samsung J210 phone. I manually configured all the settings for accessing GPRS.
But whenever I try to access GPRS, I get an Error "Cannot Resolve Host Name".I am getting this error with the proxy port 9201.The settings are correct as far as AIRTEL customer care is concerned. I was asked to use the proxy port 9201. Initially, when I used the port 8080, I got the error "500:Internal Server Error". Please help me to resolve this issue. I called customer care several times but of no use.

My Current settings are:
profile name>AIRTEL LIVE
homepage http://live.airtelworld.com
gateway> 100.001.200.099
port> 9201

Please help me.

Well, for GPRS settings you can call Airtel customer care (121) and ask them for it.
About using it in computer, you can install Nokia PC suite to do your work.

ZTC N38 GPRS Settings

Goto services-->>>Data Account-->>GSM data-->>Edit the account1 as airtelgprs.com and give ur mobile number as number.
Select line type as ISDN.
Give DNS as 202.56.231.117 & save
Select Data account -->>GPRS-->>Edit account1 as airtelgprs.com.
Edit APN as airtelgprs.com and save it

Now Goto Wap-->>settings-->>edit profile1 as airtelgprs.com
Give homepage as www.google.com
Dataaccount as airtelgprs.com
Select connection type as connection oriented.and give the ip address as 202.56.231.117..

I am not sure,
But I think the memory it is asking is not phone's memory.
There will be a limited entries for save your settings.
Normally some of settings comes with phone, delete one of those & try getting new settings again.
To delete existing settings, in your phone menu, goto settings, look for GPRS Settings or configuration menu, check for configuration settings & delete existing one.
Sometimes this will be present at Web menu-->settings.

you can't have security settings in connection itself.
You need to have it on your machine (PC).
Use any anti virus software to remove Trojans.
You can use any freeware also like AVG Anti virus.
To remove Spywares use AdAware SE. Which is also free for personal use.
