Airtel Internet through Mobile Phone as Modem

Getting an Internet connection is becoming hard in Bangalore. One easiest way to get it is using your mobile phone as a modem.Why I call this “easiest” is internet connection gets activated instantly. You need to have a mobile phone that has data connectivity to PC or Laptop & data cable to connect that. Airtel offers four tariff plans to choose from:

  1. 399 plan: Rs.399/Month, 100MB Transfer,10 paisa for extra 10kbs.
  2. 599 plan: Rs.599/Month, 1 GB Transfer, 10 paisa for extra 10kbs.
  3. 799 plan: Rs.799/Month, 1.5 GB Transfer, 10 paisa for extra 10kbs.
  4. 140 plan: Rs.140/week, Unlimited usage.

My pick among these plans is 140 plan, since it has unlimited usage & cheap compare to other plans. It will become Rs.560 if you use it for a month. All plans will come with speed up to 40kbps.Just call customer care at 121 to avail this service.

    i have nokia 6101 model phone. it has gprs service.it also have data cable. i have a laptop .i want acesssing internet service through mobile. but i cant connect.sombody says pls instal the required modem in ur laptop. i want to know is this mobile have modem r not. pls tell how i can connect internet thourgh this mobile.

    Can anybody answer using a mobile phone as moden for long shall not damage the mobile itself?? How much one should speed on PC?? Mind it when surfing mobile webpages are compressed but for pc its not so speed in pc through mobile is a question. What is upload speed??

    you will recive a setting
    now save the message as default
    airtel live
    reset the setting
    Im using nokia 7610.
    in stting option
    Connecting name (airtel live)
    Data bearer (GPRS)
    APN name (airtelfun.com)
    User name (none)
    Password (blanks)
    Authentication (normal)
    Homepage (http://live.airtelworld.com)
    in the advanced setting
    Phone ip address (automatic)
    Primary name server (0.0.0.0)
    Proxy ser address (none)
    Proxy port (0)

    Now download Proxifier 2.7

    In the setting of Proxifier set the ip 100.1.200.99 & port 8080
    now install nokia pc suit
    don’t need to put anything in pc suit setting.

    Yes you can do it. Connect the pc and phone with cable. Then connect to the internet using Nokia PC suite

    I m getting download speed of 108kbps through Airtel Mobile office at rs.15/day in gujarat.
    My headset is Nokia N73.

    Hi frdns i use Sony ericson w610i which is a class 10 EDGE technology. I use Airtel Mobile office to connect to the internet i will be getting a speed around 45-50 Kbps only..but i have read in plenty of forums and blogs about the 247 Kbps speed. can any one plz help me how to get that speed.

    I don’t think, you’ll get anything greater than 50-70 while downloading data depending on which service area you reside presently…

    Try deleting the existing settings nd reconfiguring ‘em.
    Guess it ‘ll solve ur problem :)
