Get a hosting, get a life this valentine’s for $1/year

Getting a hosting for my blog in my initial days where earnings were almost zero was a big challenge for me. I used credit card & payed it in installments! You need not to take that much risk now. Surpass Hosting is offering a good deal for this Valentine’s named “One Love”. Surpass hosting is offering it’s “Power” shared hosting plan for just $1 for the whole year. “Power” actually costs $4-$7 per month depending how many months you are paying in advance. “Power” plan includes 500 GB disc space, unmetered bandwidth, cPanel, 99.9% uptime & hosts upto 10 domains. This plan doesn’t include a domain, that’s too much to expect for 1 dollar! My friend Santosh bought the same offer last year & he is satisfied & refers all his friends to Surpass Hosting. He owns the blog www.harmlessgeek.com which has decent traffic of around 1.5k page views everyday.

This offer will be available from 14th Feb to 16th Feb. This is the right oppurtunity for starters to get a room for their blogs. More details to grab the offer here http://surpasshosting.com/one-love-2009.php

Along with the billing details they say the will charge $72 for renewal of domain next. Is this renewal mandatory. Can we just use the plan for the free period.

@Quakeboy – Nope, I myself got an account. They are not charging anything more than $1. Though you have to pay normal amount of around $72 for renewal, that’s after one year :)

Obviously, the people commenting here have never been on a paid host before, let alone having ever tried out Surpass.

Let me tell you all this – I’ve been on Surpass since a couple of years now (that’s TWO years, for those who don’t understand English), and all I’ve ever had was ONE HUNDRED PERCENT uptime. (Yeah, did you read that right ^^^^ ?)

I paid $1 for the first year. The second year costed the usual $60, although the wonderful people over at Surpass did reply positively when I asked for a discount, citing my inability to pay the entire amount at a go. Given the unbelievable uptime, I chose to partner with a friend and pay the entire amount.

My… just proves that Indians are ALWAYS cynical.

That would be a great offer if you get a continuous plan of around Rs. 2000-2500 per year. Usually 500 to 1000MB is more than sufficient to host a blog and it should be included with any website hosting plan. You don’t need tons of space for that. If you are wise you will not fell pray for any marketing gimmicks.

I hope this will be a wise advice for you. :)
