Nokia Replaces defected Batteries
Nokia replaces defective batteries which were manufactured by “Matsushita” in between December 2005 to November 2006. There are about 4.6 crores of batteries already powering mobile phones. It is expected that these batteries may get overheated due to short circuit while charging & may cause the battery to dislodge. The defective batteries are of BL-5C model & following are the mobile phone models which uses this battery:

You can check your battery model number by switching off your mobile & removing battery, Following are pictures:


Note down battery identification number as in above picture & goto Nokia website to check whether it is defective or not. Bangalore customers can also call 080-30303838 to find whether battery is defective or not. If your battery is defective, you need to fill an online form & a new battery will be shipped to your address. There will be an empty envelope sent to you with that, you need to put your old battery into that & send it back.
