hi all, u can see my post above dated may 29th, 2008, followed by 2 more posts.

ya, now the speed had really decreased. its not like the speed wen i took it. i have the 150 kbps unlimited plan. and i get only 15 kbps speed. the price is too high, its Rs.840/month. But the service is still constant as it is a broadband connection. the speed dosent go down in any time of the day.

100 mbps is the maximum speed of the ethernet adapter u r using. it means tat ur adapter is capable of transfering 100mb data per sec (max).

but, our connection is of 150kbps(urs may be differ). so, from the relience server, they send only 150 kbps data. that is why its so slow. there r many online speedo meters available. u can get ur exact speed from there.. and, in INDIA, all the ISP provides a download speed of 1/8 times of the speed the ISP is providing.

like for me, i have 150 kbps plan, and therefore my download speed will be (1/8 * 150=) 18kbps(average).

this Tata wimax broadband connection is junk they say 750 rs 256 kbps but hardly you will get on avarage 70-80 kbps. and they are smart any boradband site for testing internet speed will use public server so they willl allow maximum speed for that pirticular server. so when you test it with public domain sites it will show 300+ speed but with the advanced tools and programming i could measure is in the instance it will be like 212,0,36,35,61,45 if you avaragte it will be 70-80 kbps and every fortnight their BTS will down no body

they dont pay much attention to unlimited plan customer.


this sunil kumar wont be there he is just sales guy.he will say different and their customer care is different.this desi ignorant guys and ladies god save.


for my friends one query they took around 3 months to come to his house.

because they have outsourced technical things to one another contractor comapny and there no synchronization between customer care and technical team(contract company).

customer care always believe that your queries been resolved. such pathetic attitude.

waste of money totally...........

well, i used sify for 1 year. it is very bad in my area. i have complained more then 100 times, but of no use. then i took reliacne wi-max. its great. the speed is excellent. and the customer care is mind blowing. excellent service. weather u complain in the day or at 1 am in the night, u wont face any problem! they will serve u as soon as possible(within 1 hr max). its great.but its little expensive.. but equals to airtel broadband.

I was using Sify connection before we got Wimax. Sify connection is bad and the customer care is even more worse.
We are using Wimax , 2mpbs BW since 2 months...No issues so far, Fast connection and pretty fast downloading.
Happy with Wimax connection after having hard time with sify guys.

I suggest Wimax high speed connection.
500/- was installation charges and 750/- per month.

I have been using Reliance Wimax for the last 6 to 8 months and is excellent except for the connection going down due to unscheduled maintenance that happens every fortnite. Excellent Internet Access.....

The present connection uses somekind of wimax modem, but i would like to have a broadband router with wireless to use at home. Can you please help me identify the right one which works fine with Wimax. Thanks in advance.

Reliance Wimax seems costly because it offers 150,300& 600 kbps compared to others like 128,256 & 512kbps
and the pricing is almost similar to other ISP's who offer wired broadband..... And customers also have Buisness Plans option which works cheaper for higher usage with 2mbps bandwidth......... thanks for your feedback
