Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is stepping to launch e-ticketing soon. A debit card kind of cards will be sold to passengers & these cards can be recharged as you recharge your mobile phones. While catching a bus, you need to just swipe this card in front of a installed device. The device will automatically deduct required money from your card. This card can also be used for paying BESCOM, BWSSB bills. TOI (Times Of India) reported that, BMTC already ordered 10,000 cards for manufacturing.

swapping on the installed device??? they might get a print out receipt of the ticket while swapping those cards (in case the icket checker cumes).. and this device shud be inside the buses ofcrse with the printer setup..hmmm lets see hw they make it wrk . its realy interesting.
I am from Singapore and it is like this… the card that you will get is just a electronic card and you have to just make sure tht the system in the front of the bus recognieses it and once it is recognised you move to the back of the bus and when you are getting down you again hold it in front of the recognising machines it will collect the money from your card for your journey and there is no getting into the bus from the back/rear door only from the front door and driver will just look to that every one swipes the card and if you dont have a card, you will give the exact amount to the machine which is placed next to the driver and then the machine automatically gives the ticket to the money that you have put into the machine….so basically this system will be launched thinking tht ppl wont cheat except for few exceptions…
Thanks a lot for the information Vinayak
@vinayak… ohh its the same as metro trains format ..right. magnectic card..touch it while u enter and exit and it automaticaly deducts the money.. ohhhkkk now got it. thanks
yeah..its the same thing, the thing was I was not knowing the name for that card as magnetic card..nyway good to know tht but, one more confusion it is not magnetic in nature…
Yeah it would have been better if machine is inside the Bus and whnever you enter into Bus, swipe the card. in UK these cards are not based on distance, its based on number of weeks, so you can take any bus any route within City. But Honesty is very important, so that you enter only from front door and swipe the card.
What’s the use if the frequency of the bus is not more.
