Desktop settings for Airtel internet through Mobile Phone

Few days back I had written a post on Airtel Internet through Mobile Phone as Modem . Now I am explaining step by step procedure to setup a connection to dial-up your Mobile as modem. Let’s get into steps:
- Goto “Start–>Control Panel”
- Click on “Network & Internet Connections”
- Under header “Pick a task” click on “Create a connection to the network at your workspace”.
- Now you will get “New Connection Wizard dialog box, select “Dial-up connection” & click next.
- Dialog will ask for “Connection Name”, give whatever you would like to. I had given “airtelgprs”.
- It asks for “Phone Number”, enter number as “*99***1#”
- If you want select to put a shortcut on desktop (Preferred) & finish setup.
Now you will see a shortcut saying “airtelgprs” (In my case) on desktop. Make sure you installed your phone drivers & connect your phone. Double click the icon on desktop, leave blank “User name” & “Password” fields & click “Dial”. One message will pop-up to confirm its connected. Following are few points to check if not connected:
- Check whether modem drivers for your phone are installed. Normally this will come with your phone’s PC Suite. Installing PC Suite will install all required drivers.
- Check whether your phone could be used as modem or not.
- You need to activate “Mobile Office” service of Airtel to connect. Other services like “Airtel Live” & “NOP/Airtel Online” will not work for this connection.
- If you are getting message “Modem not responded”, try restart your mobile & reconnect it.
Satisfying all above points you will sure be able to connect to internet. To know about Tariff & Usage charges read post Airtel Internet through Mobile Phone as Modem

I have n91 mobile. I activate airtel gprs via mobile office but I can’t connect it to the computer the “ERROR 734-THE PPP LINK PROTOCOL TERMINATED.” is displayed. Someone says that there is settings needed to connect. If anyone has the settings for n91 then pls send me.

I am trying to resolve this issue. Microsoft explains as follows:
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Network and Dial-up Connections.
NOTE: For Windows Server 2003, click Start, point to Control Panel, and then point to Network Connections.
2. Right-click the appropriate dial-up networking connection, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Networking tab, and then click Settings.
4. Click to clear the Negotiate multi-link for single link connections check box (if it is selected).
5. Click OK, and then click OK.
6. Double-click the connection, and then click Dial.
? If this procedure resolves the issue and you can establish a dial-up connection, you do not have to follow the remaining steps in this article.
? If this does not resolve the issue and you cannot establish a dial-up connection, go to step 7 to continue to troubleshoot this issue.
7. Right-click the connection, and then click Properties.
8. Click the Security tab.
9. Under Security options, click Allow unsecured password in the Validate my identity as follows box, and then click OK.
10. Double-click the connection, and then click Dial to verify that you can establish a dial-up connection.

Hai I have motoroloa V3i with airtel connection. I activate GPRS and i can browse internet from my phone. But i cannot browse internet from my PC. I connected with data cable, use mobile phone tools, if i click internet conmnection from phone tools menu, open port and connect Succesfully Airtel Gprs but i cannot browse net from my pc. Can u help me, Airtel customer care people not responding
First thing is Airtel Online or Airtel Live free GPRS will not work for PC browsing. You need to have Airtel Mobile Office.
Have you installed your Phone’s software & drivers?
If yes, following above procedure it should work. If not, Please specify what error/message you are getting.

IF any one of you has installed the modem drivers and can see the phone connected to the PC, and have created the dail up connection but still not able to connect using GPRS. and getting errors like ERROR 734-THE PPP LINK PROTOCOL TERMINATED.? Then do the following
1. Open control panel. –> Phone and modem options
2. Click on the Modems tab. Then select your phone modem and open properties.
3. Go to Diagnostice — Query Modem
See if you are getting success
4. Click the Advanced Tab
and enter the following in The Extra initiailisation commands text bo
AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”airtelgprs.com”
5. Click ok.
and then try to reconnect,.
You will be able to connect then

1. I have a standalone Desktop with Dial Up Connection.
2. I have a Programm that will run in Mobile.
3. I have to access the Data from the Stanalone Desktop.
4. I have GPRS enabled & VPN settings done in the Mobile.
5. Whether it is possible to connect the stand alone desktop by dialing the dial up from mobile?

There might be problem while installing drivers.
Remove already installed drivers & re-install them.
Remove PC Suite through Add & Remove Software in your control panel.
Remove drivers if they are still present.
To remove existing drivers (assuming you are using windows XP) goto Start –> Control Panel –> Printer & Other hardwares –> Phone & Modem options. Now in Modems tab you will see your phone’s entry. Click on it & click remove.
To re-install drivers, re-install PC Suit & plug your phone. A new hardware found wizard pops-up & drivers will gets installed.

for connecting your phone to laptop you have to configure your phone i.e,MENU-TOOLS-SETTINGS-CONNECTION-PACKET DATA-ACCESS POINT-airtelgprs.com
make a dial-up connection on your pc *99***1#
this steps are necessary if you connect your phone via bluetooth otherwise use data cable and NOKIAPC SUITE.

I have NOKIA 5200.I alredy activate the GPRS.But at first when I want to GPRS settings & I send that ALL to 2567(Bhubaneswar),settings arrived but when I want to save the settings it shows ONLY 70 SETS ARE ALLOWED.but before airtel I had Vodafone connection & there I also activate the GPRS & MMS and I was able to save the settings of that connections.but now I have manualy edit the airtel live settings and access it BUT I CANNOT KNOW THE MMS SETTING>plz any one send me the process of mms settings of nokia 5200 or for Nokia handsets……

I am using nokia 6070 over airtel prepaid. I cant see Airtel live option in my phone menu. when I put the same sim in other phone I can see that option. But no issues with my phone as when I put new sim in my 6070 it works there as well.

I am using Imate K-JAM, I have enabled mobile office. I can browse internet from my mobile. From pc I can diagnose my mobile’s modem by query modem. I have added AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”airtelgprs.com” in advanced tab. I am getting error 777: The connection attempt failed because the modem (or other connecting device ) on the remote computer is out of order). Airtel customer helpdesk is also helpless. i am using gprs line of wataniya network of kuwait.Connection was fine and still working in my N70 mobile.But when i connect in pc it shows connected but i cannot browse any websites and messenger too.When i check the properties of network connection it shows only 250bytes in both sent and received.I tried all and ask wataniya operator but no use.If u can then please pass it to my email.Thanx in advance.

you can go for Airtel Mobile Office GPRS connection.
Airtel has Rs.99/week package which gives you unlimited transfer.

I have a LG handset (model not sure i believe its B250). I have activated the Airtel Mobile Office on my phone. I connected the handset using data cable and setup the dialup successfully. Dialup is working fine and when i dialed it its connecting to the net. (my mobile showing the IP address and my PC also having the same IP address when i see the ip of my pc using ipconfig). now the problem is i am unable to open any web site. when i open internet explorer or firefox its giving the “error DNS server not found”…

I previously used Nokia 3230 with Airtel Mobile Office. It worked fine. But I used it with datacable, not IR. Try using it with datacable, it shouldn’t cost you more than 100 bucks.
airtel is a shit i am a professional hardware person i have been troubleshooting many cases of gprs connection of other services but yesterday there was an pc problem connecting to internet through bluetooth dongle i checked all the settings every thing was ok there was enough balance it was 3230 mobile bluetooth gprs enabled in the daily 15 rs scheme of airtel it has the mobile office as the acess point it gets connected in the mobile but when paired with the pc it gives an ?error 734: PPP Link protocol was terminated? just after registering the system to the server I tried all that I know can any one help m i am in great mess and frustrated due to it

I am using AirTel Mobile Office GPRS Internet Connection since last 12/02/3008 in my PC without any problem. But I cannot browse internet services in my mobile phone.
I have a Nokia 3230 mobile handset and I have AirTel connection in Jharkhand. Whenever I am trying to connect internet in my mobile massage appear like, “Connection time-out”, You are not authorise to to browse”, “connot connect the server”, etc.
I could not understand that it is a fault of my mobile of of my connection.I have asked about the fact to the AirTel customer care exicutive, but they did not give any satisfactory answer.

You cannot access internet through Airtel Live connection. You should use Airtel Mobile Office.
Please read the above post on how to get that.
Connecting all the Nokia mobile phones activated for internet to PC or
Laptop using Bluetooth is very easy with PC Suite and Windows XP system.
See here step by step procedure which is very simple.
-Get Bluetooth device with its CD from market.
-Attach Bluetooth to USB port of your system (laptop or desktop)
-Insert CD in drive.
-Installation prompt will appear on screen.
-Allow all installation to complete.
-Select all Bluetooth services option for installation.
-Now activate Bluetooth of your phone by going to setting or control panel
Depending on the model of your phone.
-A Bluetooth Icon will be seen on screen of your phone.
-Now open PC Suite and click the menu of connect your phone here.
-Next screen will show three options of connections 1. Cable 2. Infrared 3. Bluetooth
-Select Bluetooth and go to next.
– The screen menu will search phones in close range of your system say 2 feet.
-The device in range will be seen on the screen.
-Select pair the device option.
-next popup will ask for security code of pairing, enter 0000 in system as well as in phone on prompt.
-The Bluetooth icon at right bottom corner of screen of system will became green now and icon of
Connected phone with a green phone with small round on its side will be visible.
-Now go to connect to internet option of PC suite.
-screen will come which will prompt for country and service provider. Select Airtel India or Hutch India
As per the internet service provider.
PC Suite will automatically select and install modem and drivers from Nokia folder of your
Program files.
-Troubleshooting step, if modem hardware failure, remote modem not responding, 734 protocol PPT,
No dial tone etc error appears the go for following steps.
-go to connect phone option.
-click on click here to connect the phone option.
-Next screen will show three options of connections 1. Cable 2. Infrared 3. Bluetooth
-Select Bluetooth and go to next.
-Devices in range will appear on screen, click on phone icon and click on unpair.
-then after this color of phone will change.
-again click on phone and then click on pair,
-enter pin code for pairing as 0000 both in phone and system.
-Now if Bluetooth USB port drivers are not installed a new hardware found massage will appear on screen
-Let the Bluetooth CD be inserted in CD drive.
-Drivers will be installed automatically.
-and connected phone icon will be seen.
-Now try connecting the internet.

I have been using Airtel Mobile office for the past 6 months to connect with Nokia 6681 modem (Nokia PC Suite) in my Compaq notebook. So far I didn’t encounter any problem, but only problem is its too slow as it is cheap. Anyway I like it just coz, its temporary and can deactivate whenever I wish plus no need to follow compulsory monthly bill. I even download torrent files with average of 6 movies (or software) a week.
But one thing I must say is that I don’t need dial-up connection mode to connect with the mobile. Just simply I open PC Suite and click Connect to the Internet, then it auto-connects to internet within 10 seconds. At present I am thinking to take the cheapest broadband connection available from the coming month just to download my wish-list movies via torrent.

First activate GPRS service on your phone by typing GPRSACT and sending to 511(14.99 daily charge applies you can connect phone to desktop or laptop)
or NOPACT to 511 (5Rs daily rental) but you can only surf on phone
Send SMS of MO to 2567 to get mobile office settings to your phone. Once you have recieved settings save it on mobile by pressing save option.
shut down and restart your phone.
Check, going to web if it is working!

activated, and i got sms of press 0 for MO setting..but in LV2008 that option is not there
for saving. please you check this model LV2008 as i think internet is not come in india, if yes then ill sell it……

Hi,
When you will open the SMS of mobile setting check save option is appearing there or not.but before that you have to send sms of MO to 2567.
If message cannot be saved then read it. which will show
access point name, ISP provider, etc set those option in
your phone manually. Also check if your phone is GPRS, MMS and GSM equipped or not.

U need to activate Airtel mobile office GPRS connection. You cannot access internet on laptop using Airtel Online connection or Airtel Live

I know only after 3220 series of Nokia the phones has got GPRS as well MMS, this is new model to me so ask the retailer if it has got MMS or not or else you can just get text data but no image download.

I was previously owning this set.
It has PC connectivity for syncing & mangaging contacts, messages. It can’t be used as a modem.
A Nokia phone which has POP port can be used as modem. The basic model which can be used as modem is Nokia 6070.

I have used Nokia3220 as Modem connecting PC. It is still lower version that Nokia 6030 but I cannot say that 6030 can work because each phone may have got facilities available.

im using a china phone nd its modem driver is mtk8227,
im using airtel mobile office to connect my pc using gprs setting of airtel n dialing the same no *99***1# but im getting error 734:ppp controle terminated .i apply atx command also n all other setting which discussed earlier in this topic but all fail.one strange thing is that when i use my idea prepaid card in same phone without changing any settings, it connects easily.

I would like to ask all those who have got Mobile Office activated on their phones, can you access your yahoo mail via Mobile Office because I got NOP activated on my phone, but I have been unable to access yahoo mail or my POP3 email via NOP. After inquiring someone said that it’s possible to do so via Mobile Office. I would like to confirm it from those who are using MO before shelling out money for it.
Looking for your prompt response and, if possible, any advice on this issue.

1. A Vodafone (Delhi) postpaid connection with Vodafone Mobile Connect activated.
2. A Moto RIZR Z3 with internal modem that has the capability to work as an external PC Modem.
I installed the Motorola PC Suite. The modem drivers were also successfully installed. However, when I attempt to connect, it gives me the following error:

The GPRS Connection could not be established, make sure that you have subscribed to the DATA option and that the network is accessible. Contact your (Hutch) Service Provider for more details.
Please help me resolve this problem. The Vodafone customer care executives ask me stupid questions and try to get rid of the call whenever I call them up with this.

Can anybody help me in sorting my Airtel Internet in laptop. I have accessed the internet before with Nokia 6322, Now I am trying to connect using Nokia 6230i. But my modem is not getting detected and its always trying to connect through 6322 modem.

May be there’s some problem with your GPRS setting. Reset the GPRS setting by asking your operator for new setting. If that doesn’t work too than contact your handset vendor
u have to install bluetooth software and pair the device
by typing password 0000 at both PC and phone and when it paired then goto PC suite see the connected device and N70 in connected list
then click connect to internet.
if still will not work then reload bluetooth softwr again. and do it.

It is really a pathetic situation. As done many times earlier I would recommend you to check out Airtel’s GPRS settings on some other smart phones and try cloning the same on your GPRS enabled Motorola smart phone. Guess it would help out

2) Create TWO Airtel gprs data accounts in your mobile and set the

3)Connect your phone with your connectivity cable using blutooth dongle or usb/serial cable.
4) Go to control panel and create a new dial up connection.
Connection Device : Your mobile?s modem
ISP Name : Anything you want to enter.
Phone Number : *99***1#.
Username: blank
Password: blank
5) Now setup your browser at your pc to use the proxy
100.1.200.99 and port 8080.
6) Connect to the dial-up account.
7) Try on your mobile and access any site. You will get ?Access
Denied??. Keep the mobile down.
8 ) On the PC ( or Laptop) open your browser, enter any address ,
press ENTER and WAIT for some minutes.

i hav samsung L700 mobile and airtel connection and win7 OS, i tried to connect internet on my laptop. i tried with all the methods given under this still i am getting the message Error 734: The PPP link control protocol was terminated. pl. give an solution . nk.ravie@gmail.com
in dialup select property and than select network tab.in this selec internet protocol(tcp/ip) and than click on the proerty and provide ip adress 10.154.22.36 click ok.

first it was in kbps not in mbps…downloading speed is always better than mobile rather than pc when we use internet using mobile..it is because..on pc at a times number of customer used internet..but at mobile no such huge internet is used..so it is faster then pc
i have nokia 5130 model and i can activate the net connection in mobile and then it will not be connect the desktop as i using the u r given procedure also it will not access in the website
I want to the steps that how can i connect my mobile to pc with the help of bluetooth for internet connection.
